Captain Franks Hotdog Emporium in Danville

Captain Frank's features a number of different hot dog preparations. They also offer brats and Polish sausage if you prefer something a little bit larger. The service is good and is usually provided by the owner which does make a difference. My only small complaint is the price. The menu items are somewhat pricey for what you are getting. It's not a cheap meal but worth a stop if you are in the area.

Great hot dogs, and the best cheese fries I have ever eaten. Restaurant is very clean and the service staff were very friendly.

Came down for work from Cincinnati. Stopped in for lunch and was not disappointed. Two hotdogs, fries and some Banana Pudding Ice Cream. Worth it.

Awesome Mom & Pop type restaurant. Great menu selection. Fair prices. Family atmosphere. There's tables with umbrellas outside to sit and enjoy the historic downtown view of Danville, Ky!! Restaurant is always clean and staff is friendly and helpful. Captain Frank's is open from 10:30am till 3:30pm. Delivery is available through Doordash!! I will certainly will return to eat their again. I highly recommend to everyone who wants to enjoy a laid back family atmosphere or anyone who is wanting to enjoy eating downtown. Plenty of seating inside and plenty of parking!! Restaurant is always cleaned.

I love this restaurant, it gives a nice little touch to the community. It is the only hotdog joint around and they definitely make an amazing dog and fries. They recently updated their hours tell Christmas just to get a feel of how the customers will respond and I must say I love the new hours. Before it was almost impossible to go because they were always closed after I got off work, now this is no longer the case.

Stopping in for lunch while in the area for a business meeting. It was wonderful food and service. Wish we had one in Hopkinsville! Will go again when in the area.

Great hot dogs, plus they have burgers and fried chicken..... And ice cold beers and a very friendly staff. It's become my Tuesday lunch stop every week.

Update: The food is amazing. Maybe a tad pricey for dogs but it’s ok cuz it’s great food! I’m leaving this as a 1 star simply because I’ve never had it!!!! I haven’t been able to eat here at all simply because of their hours!!!!!! Maybe if they change to better hours I will redo this review because the food looks amazing!

Staff was great to my family. Warm, friendly and very helpful. The atmosphere is laid back. The hotdogs are delicious and I'm looking forward to trying everything else on the menu when we visit here again.

Right across the street from the courthouse in Danville Kentucky best hot dog joint in Kentucky absolutely love it here would definitely recommend you trying it.

Customer service is good, the place is clean. A little pricey, and for a nice grilled hotdog i would totally understand. I do not think microwaved hot dogs are worth the price when i can microwave my own. I think the place has potential, I just hope they get rid of the microwave and grill their hotdogs. I would be more than happy to pay the price they ask for if they did that.

This is one of our very favorite restaurants. Even though it's billed as a hot dog restaurant, the burgers and fries are out of this world.

It's hard to find a good Chicago dog in Kentucky, but Captain Frank's has a great one!! Friendly, laid back, and delicious. I definitely recommend trying it while you're in town!

Used to go there all the time for corn dogs but just like stopped going. Very delicious. The hot dogs are an easy good choice, but seriously I recommend the milkshakes if they still make them the same way. Ridiculously good. Very thick.

Great little hotdog joint in town. Good quality hotdogs and wide variety of options or you can build your own. The fries are basic shoe string fries but you can add cheese and chili if you like. Also have a good selection of beers.

A nice place to get a hotdog. Also has great ice cream! The staff are friendly and the food is always good. The only complaint I have is when compared to other hot dog places have visited in similar locations the prices are slightly high. Still worth visiting though.

Stopped to have the wonderful experience that everyone talked about on Saturday October 26th only to find it closed . Pretty disappointed 😕

Im a hotdog lover! I got the Carolina dog and it was amazing, good chili and slaw. Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is I thought the price was a little high and I'm not crazy about the little shoe string french fries that they serve.

You don't find many creative Hot Dog restaurants around especially in a smaller community like Danville,KY. Great and fun menu the Hot Dogs were great (really enjoyed the "Texas Dog") and topped it of with a Hank's Orange Cream soda.

Really good food fair prices for what they serve. The burger are huge so you do get your monies worth on that. But not so on the price of fries. That is why only 4 stars

Visited for lunch and tried their standard chili cheese dog with mustard and onions. The all-beef dog was very tasty and came with a heaping portion of chili and cheese. I hope to stop back in for their polish sausage or bratwurst. Staff was very friendly.

My daughter LOVES captain Frank's! When she was just in preschool we literally made a trip every week after we got out of library. The girls that work there knew what my daughter would want prior to her even having to order. We always went with her best friend and they treated the girls so good. Us mom's love it too!

Oh my goodness, this place is a slice of food heaven!The restaurant is a no-nonsense counter service with a huge selection of gourmet hot dogs, as well as burgers and other items. They had Flaming Cheetos onion rings. FLAMING CHEETOS ONION RINGS! Whoever thinks up their menu is a food junkies best friend. If you live in this college town, you have to eat here. If you are visiting this college town, you have to eat here. You have to eat here.

They have better then normal hotdogs. Not just a run of the meal hotdog stand. If you like hotdog or chile you need to stop by. Check out the Chile, Cheese Fries. They are a meal in themselves
